Day Visitors

Cubs, Joeys and Junior Guide Programme

The Cubs, Joeys and Junior Guide day visitor programme is intended as an introduction to JOTA and JOTI. Cubs, Joeys and Junior Guides get to try out some of the activities at a very low cost of $5 for each youth member, which includes an official JOTA badge.

Programme

A special programme has been put together for the Cubs, Joeys and Junior Guides. There are three components to this programme:

Prior to coming to JOTA, think about questions to ask on the radio and computers, and find your own answers to those questions. There are some example questions you could use, but it is more fun to think up your own!

Day visitors are allocated to the activities on an ad hoc basis. We try to fit in between the Scouts and Guides who are rostered onto their activities at specific times.

Day visitors are welcome to stay as long as they like, but the programme typically takes from 1 to 2 hours. If your Scouts or Guides are in camp you could plan to have lunch with them.

The day visitor programme is not really designed for Scouts or Guides who do not wish to stay for the whole weekend as the level of activities is aimed at the younger members.

Older Cubs and Junior Guides (aged 10) may wish to camp with their Scouts or Guides and have a full JOTA experience. This is best organised through your Scout or Guide leader.
