10 LED Dice
The circuit uses a 4017 decade counter integrated circuit (IC1) to drive 10 LEDs. Making a sound starts the LEDs spinning round and they stop after a random period.
Assembly
The complete circuit fits on a 5cm diameter printed circuit board.
- The resistor is labelled using coloured bands. 2M is red, black, black, yellow; 20K is red, black, black, red; 470 ohm is yellow, purple, brown.
- The longer lead on the LED is the positive, marked with a "+" on the circuit board.
- Capacitors have a positive and negative. The negative, maked with a "-" goes to the shaded side of the image on the circuit board.
- The circuit diagram is below. It shows how the different components are connected together.
